ESD Guns stocks calibrated NSG 438's as well as an assortment of discharge networks and accessories (found below) for unique test applications.

The simulator is simple, convenient and safe to use. The whole range of parameter settings including polarity selection, freely adjustable pulse repetition, counter functions and discharge detection is available up to the maximum discharge voltage.The touch display and keypad for parameter input shows the precise functional and test data with user-selectable language for convenient and safe operation worldwide. The simulator contains variable threshold selection for accurate discharge detection. This detection feature can be switched off when testing EUT’s with non-conductive surfaces, such as plastic housings. Pre-programmed settings for IEC 61000-4-2 and ISO 10605 ensure that the simulator is automatically set up correctly and the appropriate discharge network is installed. The actual RC value is displayed at all times. Molded HV discharge networks in solid cases eliminate ionization and leakage current effects. Precisely tuned combinations of RC components guarantee wave shape parameters to be within tolerances. A unique activity log is included so that the types and numbers of ESD simulations can be easily scrolled through to check what has been tested and in what timeframe.

Instead of using the normal battery-pack, a mains power supply unit type Teseq (Schaffner) INA 402 can be used for stationary applications and for longterm test purposes with the Teseq NSG 435 ESD Simulator Gun.
The handgrip adapter is an integral part of this power supply unit. It contains electrical components that are necessary for this mode of operation. It is not permissible to operate the NSG 435 with a power supply unit from another system. The power supply unit can be used on all common AC mains supplies without having to make any adjustments, thus: 80 to 240 V (50/60 Hz) with 3-pin IEC connector
The power supply unit must be connected to a mains outlet having a protective earth. The protective earth connection does not replace the earth cable for the operation of the Teseq NSG 435. To ensure safe and valid test operation the earth cable must be correctly connected as the pulse return path in every case. The INA 402 mains power supply unit is constructed in conformity with the relevant safety standards and carries the appropriate test symbol

A remote triggering unit can be connected to operate the NSG 435 inside a Faraday cage with external pulse triggering or for test pulse triggering in synchronism with other conditions. The optical input for remote triggering is insensitive to external light sources.
Teseq (Schaffner) INA 415 Remote Triggering Unit for Teseq / Schaffner NSG 435 ESD Gun
The normal remote trigger unit consists of a «triggerbox» and 5 m (197 “) of optical cable. The remote trigger works in parallel with the «trigger-button» on the NSG 435. Pulse triggering, or the on/off switching in the case of repetitive discharges, can be effected by a push-button or an electrical signal applied to the triggerbox.
The electrical signal at the BNC connector must fulfill the following conditions:
On: V = 2.4...10 V, I >2 mA, t >10 ms
Off: V <0.8 V
Repetition rate: <5 Hz
The remote trigger is powered by a conventional 9 volt battery. The current consumption is so low that a battery switch has been dispensed with. If NSG 435 provided with two optical connectors connect the optical cable to the blue terminal.
It is recommended to remove the battery if the unit is not going to be used for a long time.

The Teseq (Schaffner) INA 4415 flexible test tip set was developed specifically for testing in difficult to reach places while maintaining discharge pulse shape integrity. The set includes a pointed test tip for working in contact discharge mode and a test finger with an IEC cone shape for air discharge testing.These highly flexible tips allow the user to keep the operating and display panel of the ESD simulator in ideal viewing position at all times during the test. All of the ESD simulator’s functions are available with the tip installed. Measurements taken on an IEC or ISO compliant calibration test system reveal that, even with the additional length, the pulse data obtained for contact discharges are very similar to those achieved with standard tips. These tips may also be used with any other NSG 438 discharge network.
